A variety of rockers round out this week’s new releases, but the leader-of-the-pack is definitely Linkin Park.
Boris, “Noise” (Sargent House): You can’t find a much more apt title for the Japanese heavy rock troupe’s 19th album — which means if you haven’t heard ’em by now, it’s high time to jump on board.
Kitten, “Kitten” (Elektra): The L.A. rockers release their first full album after three reputation-building EPs.
Linkin Park, “The Hunting Party” (Machine Shop/Warner Bros.): The sextet’s sixth studio album is its first without co-producer Rick Rubin since 2003 and returns to guitar-driven rock after the electronic textures of its last two releases.
Wo Fat, “The Conjuring” (Small Stone): The latest outing by the Dallas trio features five tracks of intensely sludgey doom rock. Prepare to be pulverized.
