Black Keys Honored With Special Burger

LOS ANGELES, CA - FEBRUARY 10: Musicians Dan Auerbach (L) and Patrick Carney of The Black Keys accept the Best Rock Album Award for 'El Camino' onstage at the The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards at Nokia Theatre on February 10, 2013 in Los Angeles, California.
There’s no bigger sign that you’ve “made it” than when a restaurant names a sandwich after you.

Forget those Grammys and Turn Blue’s Billboard number one debut:  Starting July 1st, L.A.-based burger chain Umami Burger will be serving the Black Keys-themed “Akron Burger” in honor of the duo.

Topped with “Velveeta fondue,” secret sauce, yellow mustard, chopped onions and dill pickles, this culinary delight does more than just fill your stomach.  One dollar from every purchase of the “Akron Burger” will be donated to The Black Keys Alfred McMoore Memorial Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation.

…So the more burgers you eat, the more you’re doing for charity!

No word yet if either Dan Auerbach or Patrick Carney have sampled the “Akron Burger,” but they could do so in early November, when they’re in the L.A. area on the U.S. leg of their upcoming world tour.
