Disney songs and rock don’t often mix, but as previously reported, Pearl Jam made it all work when they performed a snippet from the famous Disney track ‘Let it Go’ last week in Italy.
What would cause such an unusual occurrence especially in the middle of a concert? Apparently, Eddie Vedder’s daughter is a big Frozen fan.
Vedder revealed to friend and famous cartoonist Dan Perkins, aka Tom Tomorrow, that it was, in fact, his five year old daughter who had made a suggestion to him to play the song. How sweet!
Perkins said via Twitter, “So the clip of Pearl Jam doing the song from Frozen? That was a request—from Eddie Vedder’s five year old daughter.”
It’s good to know Eddie is a father that really listens to his children and will do almost anything to make them happy, even if it’s out of his comfort zone.
…Besides being an awesome father, Eddie can add “Academy Member” to his list of accomplishments.
Per NME.com, he was one of only 12 musicians this year to be invited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to join the Oscars Academy for his contributions to the art of film, most notably in the 2007’s ‘Into the Wild.’
New Academy members will be inducted at an event in September, which is by invitation only.
