Could Duff Be Velvet Revolver’s New Lead Singer?

NEW YORK, NY - JULY 07: Duff McKagan of the band Loaded performs at the 2012 CBGB Festival on July 7, 2012 in New York City.
It’s been nearly six years since Velvet Revolver has had a full-time front man, but its new lead singer might already be in the band.

In an interview with TotalRock Radio (embedded below),  Duff McKagan said he could be up for the challenge.

“I would consider it but I think it’s best if we have a lead singer,” said McKagan.  “I like rocking with Slash. When we play, I like rocking around with the guitar…when I sing with Loaded, I can’t move at all. I’m playing guitar and I’m singing.”

Duff went on to say that the band recently tried out someone to fill that role but ultimately decided he “wasn’t the right fit.”

It sounds like the possibility of Duff being Revolver’s frontman are slim, so while anything can happen, the search will continue for now.

In addition to throwing around that idea, Duff has announced plans for a second book thanks to his newly signed book deal.  A documentary is also in the works, which will be based on his 2012 memoir, It’s So Easy (And Other Lies).
