Scott Ian is more than just a metal pioneer; he is a great personality and, apparently, a talented storyteller.
His “Swearing Words” Tour, which began across the pond in Europe last year and concluded stateside this year, featured Scott as most have never seen him before.
With more than 31 years in the music business, Scott had plenty of interesting tales to tell, and now fans can own them on Swearing Word in Glasgow due out November 13th. Released via Megaforce Records, this DVD was funded by a PledgeMusic campaign. You can pre-order the DVD plus a bunch of other cool stuff at PledgeMusic.com.
Here's a (NSFW) sneak peak at the DVD:
In an interview with Loudwire, Scott said the idea all came about while sitting down with some friends.
“Over the past five years or so I’ve been lucky enough to become really good friends with some good comedians,” said Scott. “We’d sit around and swap stories, and I realized they were as interested in the stories I have about my bands Anthrax and S.O.D…the thought of spoken word terrified me.”
He went on to say that he was actually thinking about dumping the whole idea…the night before his first show.
“I was going to cancel the show the night before because I didn’t really know what I was going to do,” said Scott. “Like who cares if I cancelled? It’s not like I’m cancelling the Anthrax show. People don’t even know what they’re missing, they can’t even be upset. I don’t even know what it is, let alone the people coming to see me.”
The DVD release comes one month after Scott releases his memoir titled, I’m The Man: The Official Story of Anthrax. Pre-order’s can be made through DaCapoPress.com.
