Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and his burgeoning acting career just got a great piece of news.
Per Rolling Stone, the film Geezer, which also marks the first time where Armstrong is cast in a lead role, will premiere at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival taking place April 13-24. On top of the screening, Armstrong is also slated to perform a set after the screening. So far, no details have been released if he’ll be solo or if there will be special guest, but regardless, it’s going to be an awesome show that plenty of folks will undoubtedly capture with their smartphones.
So, what’s Geezer about? Armstrong plays a former punk rocker that’s looking to get back on stage to add some kick to his otherwise less-than-exciting middle age life. The cast is pretty stacked and features the likes of Selma Blair, Judy Greer, Chris Messina and Fred Armisen.
