Believe it or not, other things in the rock world happened over the weekend that did not pertain to Guns N’ Roses and/or AC/DC!   Here’s some things you may have missed:

Flea not bothered by National Anthem Criticism

As you many know by now, Flea, a huge Los Angeles Lakers fan, performed the “Star Spangled Banner” before Kobe Bryant’s last game last week.  What you may also know is that many people HATED said performance.  However, don’t cry for Flea; turns out he just doesn’t give a sh*t.

 

Sixx: A.M. Release Another New Track

Less than two weeks away from the release of Prayers For The Damned Vol. 1, Sixx: A.M. have begun streaming a third song from the April 29th album, and this time it’s the title track.

 

LISTEN:  Chris Cornell covers soul classic “Stay With Me”

Is there anything Chris Cornell can’t sing the crap out of?  After one listen of his cover of the 1966 Lorraine Ellison song “Stay With Me,” the answer is “no.”  The cover will be featured on Vinyl:  Music From The HBO Original Series – The Essentials:  Best Of Season 1, which is out now.

 

Krist Novoselic joins Paul McCartney on stage for "Helter Skelter"

Paul McCartney's latest tour stop in Seattle yielded a special guest appearance from Krist Novoselic, who joined Sir Paul on stage and played bass on "Helter Skelter."

 

Alice Cooper on Axl Fronting AC/DC

Okay…we know what we said at the beginning of this piece, but clearly, we should just get used to them dominating the news.

Now that Axl Rose filling in for Brian Johnson has been made official, there will be plenty of people offering up their opinion, and among them is Alice Cooper, who said in an interview with Rolling Stone, “I just think that’s such a unique combination.  Whoever has tickets to that show has got the golden ticket, because who doesn’t want to see that?”

As if AC/DC tickets didn’t already go for big bucks on the secondary market…
