The latest musical Cease & Desist for Donald Trump is coming from across the pond. In a posting on his web site, Queen's Brian May writes that he does not want Trump to use the band's music for his campaign rallies anymore; the presumptive Republican presidential nominee has been playing Queen's 1977 anthem "We Are The Champions" as his entrance music recently.
May writes that, "This is not an official Queen statement, but I can confirm that permission to use the track was neither sought nor given. We are taking advice on what steps we can take to ensure this use does not continue. It has always been against Queen policy to allow any of their music to be used by any political figures." May also told a fan on the web site that, "I will make sure we take what steps we can to disassociate ourselves from Donald Trump's unsavoury campaign."
Queen + Adam Lambert, meanwhile, gets back to work this weekend, kicking off a European tour on Saturday (June 11) at the Isle of Wight Festival in England.
