Avenged Sevenfold is adding something new to its mix -- an official fan club.
The group has operated without one for years, but it's launched one this week and is asking fans to help name it. In a message the group says that, "We have spent a lot of time over the years trying to find ways to thank you, the fans, for your loyalty and support. Signing up will give you early access to all kinds of content, exclusive merchandise, special events and contests."
The fan club's initial offerings including the first episode of a "Town Drunks" video series focusing on guitarist Synyster Gates and bassist Johnny Christ in Amsterdam during A7X's current European tour with Disturbed. The fan club site will also have a feature on Roadie Dave, who filled in briefly for Christ during a recent paternity leave from the band.
A7X's fan club will be free and won't have the usual tiers of service that most bands use for premium pricing. Fans can sign up for the club through the group's official web site; Name suggestions are being taken through 3 a.m. ET on Thursday (March 2).
A7X is in Europe through March 10, then heads back to North America for touring that begins April 22 in Las Vegas and includes a summer run opening for Metallica.
