Did you try turning The Matrix off and turning it back on again?
This really is a "Red Pill" / "Blue Pill" situation.
The Hollywood Reporter shares that there are talks within Warner Brothers to do a reboot of The Matrix, but there's a couple lingering questions / concerns as of right now regarding this.
The Wachowski Siblings Aren't Currently Involved
Why would you try to reboot this without the people who wrote and directed all three films? Well, the producer, Joel Silver, has had a "strained relationship" with the siblings, but when it comes down to it, wouldn't you want AT THE VERY LEAST the Wachowski's blessing?
Keanu Won't Do It If The Siblings Aren't Involved
While promoting John Wick Chapter 2, original star of The Matrix, Keanu Reeves, says that he would be down to be involved - with that large, looming caviat that The Wachowski's are involved. He told Yahoo! Movies “The Wachowskis would have to be involved. They would have to write it and direct it. And then we’d see what the story is, but yeah, I dunno, that’d be weird, but why not?" So I guess no Siblings, no Keanu?
This Whole Michael B. Jordan Angle
THR notes that MBJ is an interesting candidate to Warner Brothers, but honestly, we just find that super random. He did great in Creed, no offense, but this is like that whole The Mummy being rebooted without Brendan Fraser thing (I mean, for real, did they think Tom Cruise was an ample replacement?).
Of course, social media isn't happy with the idea of this, but there are many that would like to continue down the Rabbit Hole.
So... You take the blue pill and the story ends... or you take the red pill, and stay in Wonderland.
Which would you choose?
