Presidential Speechwriter Bill McGurn On the Jolt

As the chief speechwriter for President George W. Bush from 2006 to 2008, Bill McGurn has seen the inner workings of the White House as few others have.

Now on the editorial board of The Wall Street Journal, Bill also writes the weekly "Main Street" column that appears on Tuesdays.

As the first one hundred days of the Trump presidency is about to come to an end, Bill spoke with Jim Monaghan and Kim Mulligan about the pressure-filled atmosphere inside the White House, how a speechwriter's role can change from President to President, and he gave some insight into a couple of former President Bush's best speeches.
