Chris Cornell - the Music World Mourns His Passing

Chris Cornell, lead singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave, died Wednesday night May 17 in Detroit following a performance by Soundgarden. He was 52.

In a statement released by Brian Bumbery, the artist's representative, the passing was "sudden and unexpected."

In addition to his work with Soundgarden and Audioslave, Chris Cornell also released five solo albums.
