Green Day’s Mike Dirnt Talks Rock Hall, Jason White’s Cancer Recovery

This year the South By Southwest Music Conference & Festival was a "vacation" for Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt and his wife.

Last year Dirnt played a couple of gigs there with the Green Day spinoff Foxboro Hot Tub, but this time he was just hanging out.

We ran into him on the VIP balcony at Rachael Ray's eighth annual Feedback day party at Stubb's, and though loathe to talk in depth Dirnt did tell us that he was "super excited and super nervous, too" about Green Day's upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction on April 18 in Cleveland.

Dirnt also shared that guitarist Jason White was doing well in his battle with tonsil cancer and that Green Day had recently regrouped for its first band practice in awhile. "Everyone's healthy, and we're gearing up to kick ass again," Dirnt said.
