iOS 11 Will Feature A “Do Not Disturb While Driving” Feature
No texting and driving advocates will be happy with this update from Apple’s newest iOS feature.
While revealing some of the new tech at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose, Apple revealed that iOS 11, when it comes to iPhones and iPads, there will be a new feature that will include a “Do Not Disturb While Driving” mode that can be turned on, according to USA Today.
The features also include that you can tell your phone who your favorites are, and if they text you, it will send them an automated reply saying that you are driving and will answer them when you arrive.

This will be a new step into the ways of safety, muting notifications while you are driving your car. It is unclear at this time whether this function will stop you from utilizing Streaming Services while you’re mobile, because some reports, like the one on WXYZ, say that the iPhone screen will be locked and will prevent drivers while using their apps while driving. Passengers who are not driving will have the ability to turn this feature off, but if you know the human condition of being connected, you know many people will turn that function off to use their devices.
Apple CarPlay will still be functional, according to WXYZ.
