Rich Robinson Talks Crowes & Magpies On the Jolt
Black Crowes founding member Rich Robinson and his new band Magpie Salute have released their self-titled debut album featuring a mix of new songs, covers, and a couple of old Black Crowes songs.
With a full ten-piece band featuring some old Crowes hands such as Marc Ford, the band is scheduled to head out on the road soon, coming to the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank on August 9th and Irving Plaza in the city on November 15 and 16.
Rich and Jim Monaghan talked about the genesis of the band and this new CD, the exhilaration of creating music, and the challenges of having a large band travel on the road.
