Slipknot Concert Film Hitting Theaters in September

Slipknot has documented its first-ever visit to Mexico, during December 2015, in a new film, Day Of The Gusano, that will hit theaters during September.

The group has released a 62-second trailer showing footage from the Knotfest concert as well as both fans and band members talking about the occasion. The film will screen for one-night-only on September 6, likely ahead of a home video release.

In a statement, the group's M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan, who directed the documentary, says that, "Slipknot still has dreams for itself. Finally playing Mexico was one of them. It's been a surreal life of rock and roll for Slipknot and the fact that the dreams still go on for us is simply incredible."

Guitarist Jim Root adds, "We had such a great time at Knotfest Mexico...Not only with all the friends and bands that were there, but with the fans and the crowd we had to document it with. Now we get to share it for the world.”

The roster of theaters where the film will show will be announced during July, while Slipknot has launched an #AskSlipknot campaign for Facebook and Twitter where fans can submit questions through June 13 that the group will answer at a special screening of the project.

Slipknot is reportedly working on new music while the band members are working on individual projects, most notably frontman Corey Taylor with Stone Sour.
