Kid Rock for Senate?

The outspoken Michigan rocker has appeared to launch a U.S. Senatorial campaign, launching a web site KidRockForSenate.com and posting Twitter messages saying, "I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real...The answer is an absolute YES...Stay tuned. I will have a major announcement in the near future."

The web site, however, redirects users to a page for his label, Warner Bros. Records, which is selling various campaign memorabilia.

Rock has been working on a new album for release this fall or in 2018 and some believe the senate bid may be a ruse to help launch the set.

Meanwhile, there's no indication of which state he would pursue the office in; While he's a native of Michigan and still has property there, Rock also has homes in Tennessee and Alabama.

Michigan's sitting Sen. Debbie Stabenow, who's up for re-election in 2018, is taking Rock seriously; She's used his maneuver as an opportunity to raise funds for her campaign, writing to supporters that, "We don't know if this is real or just a publicity stunt. But after Donald Trump's surprising win last year, we need to act fast."

Stay tuned...
