Per a press release from Warner Brothers, Bennington’s service was attended by 500 people, from family to close friends and other musicians Linkin Park has come in contact with over the years. Linkin Park bandmates Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn, along with Dead By Sunrise’s Ryan Shuck, gave eulogies. The service was led by KROQ’s Ted Stryker, while an all-star gathering of Robert & Dean DeLeo, Matt Sorum, Damon Fox, and Jimmy Gnecco performed “Amazing Grace.”
While Bennington’s service wasn’t open to the public, fans the world over have organized a number of memorial events to honor the Linkin Park frontman. A Google Doc has been created that lists each event organized by continent. Many events are taking place in August, so if you’re looking for a way to pay your respects and connect with other fans, check out the Google Doc.
