White and an ad hoc group called The Brushoffs -- featuring his regular bassist Dominic Davis, Raconteurs bandmate Brendan Benson and Dirtbombs drummer/Third Man Records executive Ben Blackwell -- has recorded a new song called "Strike Out," while the B-side features an interview with retired Tigers star and current broadcaster Kirk Gibson.
Photos for the single, which is pressed in the Tigers colors of blue and orange, were taken by pitcher Daniel Norris. A purchase of the single comes with a ticket for the Tigers September 24 game against the Minnesota Twins. A portion of the proceeds go to the Kirk Gibson Foundation and the Detroit Tigers Foundation.

White recently revealed he's been recording his next solo album in New York and Los Angeles.
