Chris Cornell's family is asking fans to join in the continued mourning for the late Soundgarden singer.

Cornell's widow, Vicky, and his children are soliciting messages from fans that will be posted on his official website. On Twitter she writes, "Since my husband's tragic passing, fans from all over the world have come together to share their feeling about what Chris and music meant to them, leaving thousands of messages of love. You have opened your hearts to me and our children, and we are grateful for your sympathy, love and support in bringing us solace and helping us heal."

A submission form for messages has been posted at ChrisCornell.com, and new tributes have started pouring in.

Cornell committed suicide in his Detroit hotel room on May 18, shortly after Soundgarden performed at the nearby Fox Theatre. His family also plans to erect a statue of him in his home town of Seattle.
