U2 is teasing a new song, "The Blackout," likely from its upcoming Songs Of Experience album.

The group has released a 15-second snippet of the song online along with an announcement via Twitter that the entire track will be released at noon ET today (August 30). This follows cryptic letters sent to fans last week that featured shadowy figures of a boy and girl holding hands with much of the text obscured, save for highlighted words such as "Blackout...It's clear who you are will appear...U2.com" and the message "U2 will announce [blackout space] on [blackout space]."

Rumors also have another new track, "You're The Best Thing About Me," coming out September 8 and the Songs Of Experience album dropping December 1 in conjunction with World AIDS Day -- though U2 has not confirmed those reports.

The group resumes its Joshua Tree Tour 2017 tour on September 3 in Detroit, followed by shows in the U.S. Mexico and South America through October 25.
