ICYMI: GN’R, Foo Fighters Pay Tribute To Malcolm Young

As social media tributes poured in for AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young after his death on Saturday (November 18), a couple of bands made sure he got his due on the concert stage over the weekend, too.

Most appropriately, Guns N' Roses -- whose frontman Axl Rose sang with AC/DC in place of Brian Johnson during 2016 dedicated its version of Bob Dylan's "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" to Young on Saturday night in Sacramento, with Rose telling the crowd Young "will be sorely missed by none more than his brother Angus." GNR followed with a rendition of AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie"

...Meanwhile, at Mexico's Corona Capital Festival, Foo Fighters played AC/DC's "Let There Be Rock" with a photo of Young on the screen behind the band, as frontman Dave Grohl announced, "Tonight we're gonna play some rock and roll for Malcolm Young!"

Grohl had also posted a tribute to Young on Instagram thanking the guitarist "for the songs, and the feel, and the cool, and the years of losing control to you rock and roll. I will do just that tonight, for you."
