Metallica sure has been active lately, and we don’t just mean musically.
Has anyone else noticed they’ve been cropping up in some unlikely places…LIKE STARBUCKS! The band’s latest effort with the coffee giant is giving us reason to pause and look back at all of the strange collaborations that band was involved with in recent memory. Here are just five that we could remember. (Who knows? We could’ve missed some.)
Starbucks
Gimme fuel, gimme coffee, gimme that caffeine I desire! Special Metallica-branded gift cards are now available at Starbucks stores nationwide with proceeds going to the band’s All Within My Hands Foundation.
Brioni
Metallica were the faces of Brioni, an Italian luxury menswear label, in the summer of 2016, because when you think of high-end Italian clothing, you think of Metallica.
Various Department/Mall Stores
To our knowledge, Metallica has inked three new merch deals with the following retailers: London department store Selfridges, Urban Outfiters and Spencer’s Gifts. Finger’s crossed that Metallica merch was shelved somewhere near the fake poop/vomit or the “personal massagers.”
Funko
Alright…maybe this partnership isn’t too left of center, but who knew it was going to be SO CUTE!
Carpool Karaoke
This James Corden creation normally skews more pop than metal, but we were floored when we learned Metallica was booked for an episode. Also, it’s where we learned James Hetfield is familiar with The Little Mermaid soundtrack AND has at least sent one dick-pic in his life. Ah…the more you know, amiright?
