To begin with, the fact that these photos exist is awesome.

When he’s on vacation, he’s just one of the locals
Dave and his family vacationed in Delaware in the summer of 2015 and casually went about town on beer runs and other errands but still was cool enough to pose for photos with anyone who asked. And we mean anyone! Just look at the collage below!
He invited his orthopedic surgeon to jam on stage with the Foo Fighters
When the Foos made their way through Boston in the summer of 2016, they made a point to invite Dr. Lew Schon on stage to front the band’s cover of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army.” Dr. Schon repaired Dave’s broken leg after he fell off the stage in Sweden.
That time he gave a fan one of his shoes.
Speaking of Dave's orthopedic surgeon, the Foo Fighters played a gig in Washington, D.C. in October 2017 and at the meet-and-greet, there was a fan on crutches whose injured foot was shoeless. Grohl then retrieved his orthopedist, who apparently was on hand, and then this happened.

His speech at Lemmy Kilmister’s funeral was incredible!
Dave was one of many rockers who spoke at Lemmy’s funeral, and it was one of the biggest highlights of the service. We dare anyone to try and not get a little choked up when Dave’s recites the Little Richard lyrics “Precious Lord Take My Hand.”
He’s a man of the fans
From playing the petitioned Richmond, Virginia show in September 2014 to the Cesena, Italy show in November 2016 to reaching out to a fan who recently lost his wife, Dave showed that he and the Foos are always listening to their fans and deeply care about them.
