David Coverdale Talks Future Rock Hall Inductions
David Coverdale has already secured his place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when he was inducted with Deep Purple in 2016, but are more Rock Hall honors in his future?
Coverdale recently spoke to WRIF’s Meltdown and in addition to Whitesnake, he said another one of his projects might get the nod:
“Well, we got on so well with the people there…They are definitely going to try and propose Whitesnake and, believe it or not Coverdale/Page…because they’re all fans of that album. So, I don’t know whether that will ever manifest, but if that does and to have three [inductions]…I’d be like ‘The Immortal David Coverdale.’”
For the record, the only musician to be inducted into the Rock Hall three times is Eric Clapton with The Yardbirds (1992), Cream (1993) and as a solo artist (2000.) If you have to share an honor like that, it’s fair to say that pretty decent company.
