By now, we all know Tool is finally in the studio working on the follow-up to their 2006 album 10,000 Days, but even with all of the fan support, the band is well-aware of the pressure they face.
In a recent interview with Revolver magazine, Maynard James Keenan referred to the new album as “‘Chinese Democracy II or III” in reference to the infamous Guns N’ Roses album. GN’R, of course, released that LP 15 years to the day after their previous studio release. So far, Tool is approaching the 12-year mark, but fortunately, fans have been killing time with meme and other jokes like this:
In other Tool news: The band have announced a series of dates in the midwest where they will be hosting music clinics.
These clinics will feature Danny Carey, Justin Chancellor and Adam Jones in what is being billed as “a rare glimpse behind-the-scenes…walking attendees through a handful of the band’s songs, from the process of writing them to playing them live.”
Tickets for these clinics will go on sale to the general public Friday, April 13 at 10 AM local time, with Tool Army member have the chance at limited pre-sale tickets on Wednesday, April 11 at 10 AM PST at ToolBand.com.
