Not so fast, Brad Wilk.
Pearl Jam might have been a much different sounding band if they had chosen someone else as their drummer back in their formative days. Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk was asked to audition for the Seattle rockers back in 1991.
Wilk told a podcast about what happened and why he was rejected.
Eddie Vedder had asked Wilk to fly out to England where the band was mixing Ten. Pearl Jam's original drummer had drug issues and wasn't cutting it. However Wilk just wasn't "clicking" with bassist Jeff Ament, and after a week of playing, Wilk returned home.
But it wasn't all bad for Wilk. He formed Rage Against The Machine that same year.
What would a mashup of Pearl Jam and Rage Against The Machine sound like to you?
