Metallica will be receiving the Polar Music Prize today (June 14), which is Sweden’s highest music honor.  That considering, we thought we’d look back on another big honor the band earned in their remarkable career.

In 2009, Metallica was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and they were truly honored when they took to the stage for their acceptance speeches.

Perhaps the best part was when James Hetfield called out the Rock Hall for a few hard rock/metal acts that had yet to be inducted into the Rock Hall.  While a couple on his list, like Alice Cooper and Deep Purple, were finally inducted, there were plenty of other artists mentioned that still haven’t, like Motorhead.
