Highlights From Smashing Pumpkins’ 30th Anniversary Show
Smashing Pumpkins went big for their 30th anniversary show last night (August 2.)
The Holmdel, N.J. stop on the band’s reunion tour featured a bunch of special guests including AFI frontman Davey Havok, Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook, Killers members Dave Keuning and Mark Stoermer, Courtney Love, Mark McGrath, and Deftones frontman Chino Moreno.
In addition to joining the Smashing Pumpkins on some of their songs, some guests performed their own hits with McGrath fronting Sugar Ray’s “Fly” and Love fronting Hole’s “Celebrity Skin” and “Malibu,” two tracks that were also co-written by Billy Corgan.
