Rock Candy

Dave Grohl’s two-part documentary Play comes out this Friday (August 10), and a new clip was recently shared via the Foo Fighters’ social media!

The minute-long clip shows Grohl, through camera magic, at seven different instruments about to launch into his epic 23-minute instrument song.  Play will show the behind-the-scenes prep of filming the composition and the performance of the piece of music itself.

In a statement on the project, Grohl said the documentary was inspired by the music lessons his own children take.

“When I take my kids to the place where they take their lessons, I see these rooms full of children that are really pushing themselves to figure this out,” said Grohl.  “And even now, as a 49-year-old man, I’m still trying to figure it out… it’s not something that you ever truly master. You’re always chasing the next challenge, and you’re always trying to find a way to improve on what you’ve learned.”

Play is currently available for pre-order.
