VIDEO: Limp Bizkit Performs “Break Stuff,” Stage Roof Collapses
From the “You Can’t Make This Up” files: Limp Bizkit had a strange self-fulfilling prophecy moment happen at their recent gig at the Boomtown Festival in Winchester, England.
During their performance of “Break Stuff,” a large portion of the stage’s roof caves in dumping a bunch of water onto Wes Borland’s pedal board and guitar rig. There was some rain during the festival, and apparently, enough water pooled on the roof to cause this incident.
Limp Bizkit was able to finish the song, but shortly after, Borland’s entire rig “blew up” leading to the end of the show. Fred Durst then thanked the crowd for their energy during their set and then left the stage while Simple Minds’ “Don’t You Forget About Me” played, which is an interesting exit song for a nu-metal band to use, but hey, to each their own.
Borland posted the following photo to his Instagram stating an additional post it took “two days of letting everything dry out and massive rewiring” to fix his rig. Yikes!
