Mike Lawrie/Getty ImagesIf the surviving members of Nirvana are planning a reunion set at the Cal Jam Festival this weekend, they’re not exactly being coy about it.
Foo Fighters, who are headlining the festival, retweeted a message from the official Cal Jam 18 Twitter account yesterday (October 3) along with, “CAN’T WAIT!!! What else could we have up our sleeves?? Stay tuned…”
A little over three hours later, the Foos posted the following clip to their social media accounts along with the caption, “This is a Jam @caljamfest #CalJam18.” The imagery featured comes from a surprise show from Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear after the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony that featured Nirvana as part of the induction class.
To add more to this buzz, Novoselic’s band Giants In The Trees is on the bill. Now, as for who would be there to fill in on vocals, the likes of Iggy Pop, Tenacious D, Garbage and Greta Van Fleet are on the Cal Jam bill. Then again, there could also be some surprise guests pop up, too.
Let’s face it: Never put it past the Foo Fighters to surprise the hell out of everyone in attendance.
