Yesterday, news surfaced that indicated 'Friends' would be removed from Netflix on January 1.

Naturally, that didn't sit well with fans of the show, and they took to social media to voice their displeasure.

Several Twitter users proclaimed they would be canceling their Netflix subscription, but alas, it appears the streaming service has had a change of heart.

In a tweet, Netflix shared a photo of the Holiday Armadillo and told customers that their wish had been granted.

In other words, 'Friends' will still be available on the streaming service, at least throughout 2019.

That's definitely comforting news, and gives fans more time to rewatch all of their favorite episodes.

But, if there's one thing we know, it's that all good things must eventually come to an end, so the notion that 'Friends' will remain on Netflix into 2020 seems doubtful.

In truth, the streaming service frequently does away with the old to make room for the new.

While we're thankful that 'Friends' will remain, (for now) eventually we'll have to face reality that the popular sitcom will one day exit the platform.
