As many rock fans know, the rock categories and associated acts don’t often receive a lot of attention when it comes to the GRAMMY telecast.  However, in light of the GRAMMY nominations announcement today (December 7), here are three rock moments that will hopefully happen at the ceremony.

More than one “token” performance

We know that we’re essentially the black sheep of the entire ceremony, but let’s dream big and aim for maybe TWO ROCK PERFORMANCES during the telecast.  (Please note the sarcasm.) Considering Greta Van Fleet nabbed four GRAMMY nominations, there’s a good chance they will perform on “Music’s Biggest Night.”  But if there can be one more performance, that leads into potential rock moment number two.

Ghost scares the crowd with their Satanic majesty

Can you imagine the reactions of pop stars and other celebrities in attendance if Ghost were to take the stage?  Better yet, can you imagine the reaction on Twitter?  Plus, the band has had a great year with the release of Prequelle.  They deserve a big mainstream moment like this.

Greta Van Fleet takes home “Best New Artist”

One of the nominations GVF scored was “Best New Artist,” and with that nominations comes the only rock representation in the GRAMMYs’ “General Field” categories.  The “curse” stigma of the award is pretty much non-existent nowadays, and after the breakthrough year the band had, they are more than deserving of the honor.
