James Hetfield’s acting debut is now set for a major premiere.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, And Vile will be making its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.  Sundance runs from January 24 through February 3, however, an exact premiere date has yet to be confirmed.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, And Vile explores the relationship between serial killer Ted Bundy and his girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, and tells the story of serial killer Bundy from her perspective.  Bundy and Kloepfer are being portrayed by Zac Efron and Lily Collins, respectively.  

Hetfield will be playing Officer Bob Hayward, the first law enforcement officer to arrest Bundy.   Extremely Wicked… is being directed by Joe Berlinger who also directed and produced the 2004 documentary Metallica:  Some Kind of Monster.
