There is not enough time in the world to list all of the wild things John Lydon has done on stage. However, this moment from July 2018 is both punk AF and super poignant.

Lydon, who celebrates his birthday today (January 31), was performing with Public Image Ltd. in Frome, Somerset, England.  He was asked to spread the ashes of a recently deceased fan named Stuart.

“His sister has asked me to spread [his ashes] on the stage tonight, and I think that’s one of the nicest, most humblest things,” said Lydon in the video below. “This is for Stuart, a fan whose request is his ashes be spread on the PiL stage. Stuart, we love you! In memory! Stuart!”

Frankly, this makes spreading someone’s ashes in nature seem sort of boring now.
