All That Remains Name Jason Richardson as New Guitarist
All That Remains have made things official and have named Jason Richardson as their new guitarist replacing the late Oli Herbert.
The band issued the following statement that reads as follows:
“All That Remains would like to clarify that guitarist Jason Richardson is now an official member of the band. Some recent interviews were conducted before a decision was made or announced regarding Jason. But the band has indeed welcomed him into the fold as an official member and is excited to get back on the tour and play for fans.”
Richardson was named as an interim guitarist for the band in November 2018 as they were about to embark on a European tour in support of their latest album, Victim of the New Disease.
Vocalist Phil Labonte said on Talkin’ Rock with Meltdown in November that Herbert would have approved of Richardson as a replacement and stressed how Herbert would want All That Remains to move forward:
“He’s the guy Oli would’ve wanted to fill in…We just don’t want to let the record to be just kind of pushed aside. Oli would have wanted us to play the songs. He was excited about the way the record sounded, and he was excited about a lot of the stuff on it. So, he wouldn’t want us to stop. We just have to figure out what that actually looks like and how we do that.”
Herbert died on October 10, 2018. The exact cause of his death is still being investigated.
