Kirk Hammett slipped and fell during Metallica‘s recent show in Milan, Italy, and it’s a sight to behold for multiple reasons.

For starters, Hammett is in the middle of his solo during “Moth Into Flame” and has some of the most intense “guitar face” of all time. He is clearly feeling his solo.

Second, when he does fall, he not only very gracefully recovers, but he’s trying his best not to laugh his ass off in the process, because even the guitar icon knows that when people fall on stage, it’s funny.

Lastly, he doesn’t just let the video spread via fan accounts, he shares it himself via his Instagram along with the caption, “Ummm- I slipped on my wet wah pedal. It rained so much I felt like I was playing guitar in the shower.” Added bonuses can be found from other musicians in the comment section including Slayer’s Gary Holt who simply wrote, “EPIC!” Green Day’s Mike Dirnt, meanwhile, wrote, “Kill it till ya spill it! Awesome.”

Fortunately, Hammett was okay and didn’t injure himself in any way.
