We all know New Jersey peeps are the BEST! This year Governor Phil Murphy announced the 11th annual- 2019 NJ Hall Of Fame nominees at Newark Liberty Airport and one of NJ's best band is finally recognized as is one of the state's true musical icons.
"Born To Run" has long been a NJ anthem, BUT New Jersey is a true "Havin' A Party" state for sure! We are super excited the amazingly talented Southside Johnny (Lyon) and The incredible, influential Smithereens will finally be recognized. Both artists have a long, rich history with WDHA having played shows, made station visits and still have their catalogs of killer tunes heard through our airwaves everyday. The only dark spot-we miss our brother Pat.
Other nominees include George Costanza (Jason Alexander), Activist Elizabeth Allen, Professor Victor Parsonnet, football great Harry Carson, Gymnast Laurie Hernandez, former Giant Bart Oates, Basketball player/coach Anne Donovan, Author Peter Benchley, sports columnist Jerry Izenberg, Game Of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, Photographer Timothy White, Businessman J. Fletcher Creamer Sr. , businessman F.M. Kirby II, restaurateur, entrepreneur Tim McLoone, businesswoman Mary Roebling, businessman Arthur F. Ryan and businesswoman/TV personality Martha Stewart.

The induction happens October 27th in Asbury Park.
Congratulations to all- especially our friends The Smithereens and Southside!
