Former NFL running back Cedric Benson, who was the #4 overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, was killed in a motorcycle crash in Austin, Texas late Saturday night (8/17), according to CBS Austin. He was only 36.
According to The New York Post, Benson was reportedly driving his bike with a passenger when they got into an accident with another vehicle around 10 PM.
Just hours before the crash, Cedric posted a photo of a BMW motorcycle to his Instagram story, writing “My Saturday evening.”
The passenger, who has not yet been identified, was also killed in the wreck.
Benson had 1,593 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in three seasons with the Bears before signing with the Bengals.
