Disney just announced The Mandalorian release date. Turns out, the first ever live-action Star Wars TV series is coming to this galaxy very, very soon, according to Entertainment Weekly.
On Friday (Aug. 23), it was revealed that the new series, directed by Jon Favreau, will start streaming Nov. 12, 2019 on Disney's new streaming service, Disney+.
The Mandalorian stars Game Of Thrones actor Pedro Pascal (a.k.a Oberyn Martell) as a "lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy," according to the official Star Wars website. The series, of which there are little details known, takes place three years after Return Of The Jedi, but before the rise of the First Order.
There's a rumor that The Mandalorian has an interesting connection to Boba Fett thanks to its bounty hunter lead character. The trailer for The Mandalorian, which also stars Deadpool's Gina Carano and Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito, is expected to drop soon.
