Chris Jericho became the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) World Champion over the weekend at All Out, but he’s already lost the belt…literally.

First reported by Blog of Doom and confirmed by Pro Wrestling Sheet, Fightful and TMZ Sports, Jericho filed a police report with the Tallahassee Police Department that reads as follows:

“The victim reported the theft of his championship wrestling belt while he was eating inside Longhorn Steakhouse. The victim stated he arrived at the Millionaire Club Airport Terminal and place the belt inside his rented limousine. The limo driver shuttled the victim to Longhorn for dinner. The victim remained at Longhorn while the limo driver returned to the airport. The victim had taken the wrong luggage from the airport and the driver took it back to the terminal. When the driver picked up the victim from the restaurant, the belt was missing. Responding officers searched the limo and airport for the belt without success. On-call CID was consulted, and forensics responded to the scene.

Victim: Christopher “Jericho” Irvine, W/M, 11/9/70″

In a screengrab from Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin, AEW has acknowledged in an Instagram comment that the World Championship was stolen and that “Authorities are working on it as we speak.”

AEW has issued a video statement from Jericho saying a “worldwide investigation” has been launched to find the belt.

Of course, after a video like this, there might be a debate whether this was a planned stunt or if AEW is turning their actual theft into a funny storyline. Either way, wrestling Twitter is having a field day with this news. Here are some notable comments.
