Elton John and his Oscars viewing party has been one of the biggest parties in Hollywood for decades, and it was extra special this year.
John and Bernie Taupin won the Oscar for Best Original Song for "(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again" from Rocketman, and when the longtime songwriting partners won, the entire party erupted, as seen in the video below.
Shortly thereafter, John arrived at his party, which acts as a fundraiser for his Elton John AIDS Foundation. The party features an auction, and during this year's auction, Sir Elton began taking song requests. Per Yahoo Music, as part of the auction of a Yamaha grand piano featured in Rocketman, John began taking song requests from bidders to help drive up the price on the piano. In all, John played pieces of "Bennie and the Jets," "I'm Still Standing," "Daniel" and "Your Song," which drove up the bids to a sale price of $220,000.
