Twitter is Testing Their Version of ‘Stories’
Twitter is finally jumping on-trend and adding their versions of stories on their platform.
Per Buzzfeed News, Twitter is testing out “fleets” which will allow users to post photos, videos, and text that disappear after a short period of time. They are late to the game as Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube, Netflix, Tinder, and LinkedIn have all done something similar.
In a statement, Twitter explained, “People have told us in early research that because Fleets disappear, they feel more willing to share casual, everyday thoughts. We hope that people who don’t usually feel comfortable Tweeting use Fleets to share musings about what’s on their mind.”
Buzzfeed adds that the fleets (fleeting+tweets) cannot be retweeted or liked, and they support text, GIFs, videos, and photos.
Unfortunately, this feature is currently only available in Brazil, according to Yahoo. Fingers crossed: If all goes well, the U.S can expect to have it, too.
