Bret Michaels’ Book Already ‘In Talks’ of Becoming a Biopic
Bret Michaels sounds like he’s the latest musician working on a biopic.
The Poison frontman appeared on the podcast The Dish with Trish with Trisha Paytas and was asked if his new book, Auto-Scrap-ography Volume 1: My Life in Pictures & Stories, would eventually be adapted into a film.
“There’s a film happening, and it’s ‘in talks,'” says Michaels. “‘In talks’ means nothing until it happens, but it’s beyond the talks into something else that may be a miniseries. And when I say it’s incredibly done, it’s mixing up ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ or ‘Rocket Man.’ We’re working really hard to make it great.”
Before that happens, Michaels says he’ll be doing a Ken Burns-style film he calls an “Audio-Visual Big Read.”
“I’ll read through the book and through it are still pictures and moving pictures from each chapter, so all the images come to life,” says Michaels. “The pictures stop and come to life and we take those freeze frames and move them into video…That film comes out in the fall.”
Poison was set to be part of “The Stadium Tour” this summer with Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. While the tour’s future hasn’t been determined yet due to the coronavirus pandemic, an official announced is set to be released on June 1.
