Woman Who Popularized Gender Reveal Parties Speaks Out After Celebration Sparks California Wildfire
After the recent news that a gender reveal party sparked a major California wildfire, even the woman who created them is saying enough is enough.
Blogger Jenna Karvunidis was credited with popularizing the gender reveal party back in 2008. Now, 12 years later, she’s still garnering attention from it.
“Stop having these stupid parties. For the love of God, stop burning things down to tell everyone about your kid’s p****. No one cares but you,” Karvunidis shared to Facebook.
Fire investigators determined the fire was caused by a “smoke-generating pyrotechnic device.” According to CNN, it has since “scorched 10,574 acres and was 16% contained” as of today.
