Grammy Nominations: 14 Lesser-Known Nods You May Have Missed

The 63rd Annual Grammy Nominations were announced today (November 24.) While the general field and major genre categories get the most attention, there is a whole slew of slightly random Grammy categories that don’t always get as much love.

The year, a number of notable rock figures were recognized with Grammy nominations in some lesser-known categories. Scroll below to see 14 Grammy nominations you may have missed.

• Dan Auerbach

  The Black Keys guitarist has a rather prolific career as a producer and received a Grammy nomination for Producer of the Year. Artists he produced this year include CeeLo Green, Marcus King and John Anderson.

• Andrew Watt

  Watt famously produced Ozzy Osbourne's latest studio album 'Ordinary Man," but he also lent his producing talents to Post Malone, Dua Lipa, 5 Seconds of Summer and Zac Brown Band, which led to him receiving a Grammy nomination for Producer of the Year.

  The popular 'Jeopardy!' contestant received a Grammy nomination for Best Spoken Word Album for the audiobook recording of 'Alex Trebek - The Answer Is...'

  Byrne received a Grammy Nomination for Best Musical Theater Album for the soundtrack to his hit Broadway show 'American Utopia On Broadway.'
• Alanis Morissette

  Morissette received a Grammy Nomination for Best Musical Theater Album for the soundtrack recording of the 'Jagged Little Pill' musical.

• ‘Bill & Ted Face the Music’ Soundtrack

  The long-awaited third film in the 'Bill & Ted' franchise was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. The film soundtrack featured a variety of artists including Weezer, Lamb of God, Mastodon and Cold War Kids.

• Grateful Dead

  Along with McCartney, The Dead was also honored with a Grammy nomination for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package for 'Giants Stadium 1987, 1989, 1991.'
