Heart: Ann Wilson Says Their Story Will Be Made Into A Biopic
Deadline reports that a Heart biopic is in the works. They report that, in a recent interview, Heart singer Ann Wilson said Carrie Brownstein of the punk band Sleater-Kinney (and the costar of IFC’s Portlandia) will write and direct.
“I saw the first draft of the script,” Ann Wilson said. “She’s working with the movie company — Amazon — and with the producer, Linda Obst, who did Sleepless in Seattle.” Obst’s other production credits include Flashdance, One Fine Day, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and the TV series Hot in Cleveland.
No casting decisions have been made as of yet, nor is there a release date.
The film is said to concentrate on the band’s rise to stardom. Heart, of course, has always been led by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson; the Wilson sisters are the only original members who are still in the band.
