Phil Collins’ Ex is Auctioning Off His Gold Records
Phil Collins’ split from ex-wife Orianne Cevey has taken yet another turn for the strange as Cevey is auctioning off some of Collins’ gold records.
The items are listed on the website for Dania Beach, Fla.-based auction gallery Kodner and include two gold records awarded to Collins: One for Robert Plant’s 1982 album Pictures at Eleven, on which Collins was credited for playing drums, and one for Plant’s 1983 album The Principle of Moments, which was released via Collins’ boutique label Es Paranza.
There’s also a bunch of other items up for auction from designer clothing and accessories and high-end jewelry.
As for why Cevey has decided to auction off these items, a rep for her told Page Six, “She is moving to a smaller home and getting rid of some of her clothing and jewelry that she no longer wears … I mean after all, she does have 5,000 pairs of shoes alone and only two feet — she can’t wear them all! Orianne found organizing the move very cathartic and went very Marie Kondo and got rid of a number of items that no longer sparked joy for her.”
One word: Gag. On the plus side of this mess, 10% of the proceeds from this auction, which is taking place on February 3, will be going to the spinal muscular atrophy charity Never Give Up Foundation.
If you haven’t been following this drama closely, Collins attempted to kick Cevey out of their Miami mansion back in October after she suddenly remarried in August while in Las Vegas. Collins and Cevey were married from 1999 to 2008. Their divorce resulted in Cevey receiving a massive settlement just shy of $47 million.
Cevey remarried but divorced that husband in 2016 and got back together with Collins. Cevey’s marriage in August was seemingly out of nowhere and that she told Collins “she was just traveling to Las Vegas for business.”
Later in October, Collins filed a lawsuit against Cevey and accused her and her new husband of “an armed occupation and takeover” of the mansion after they changed alarm codes, blocked surveillance cameras and hired armed security guards to patrol the mansion’s grounds.
Cevey and the new husband have reportedly bought a new home nearby following Collins selling the Miami mansion. However, there appears to be a new legal challenge brewing with Cevey claimed she had an oral agreement with Collins that she would get a 50 percent stake in the mansion after she divorced the man she married following her 2008 divorce with Collins.
