Rock Candy

Myles and Layne Ulrich, the sons of Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, have formed a rock duo named Taipei Houston.

Lars shared a video post of his sons via Instgram along with the caption, “Check it out…A couple dudes named Ulrich…Their new band is @taipei_houston.”

The video shared shows Myles and Layne performing a track with a heavy White Stripes influence with the brothers performing as a bass/drums duo a la Royal Blood. Kirk Hammett commented on the post with three fire emojis, while one person cheekily commented, “I’m surprised Lars is promoting a band with such a prominent bass sound.”

Taipei Houston’s handle on Instagram is @taipei_houston. According to their official website, the duo’s next show is currently slated for Thursday, September 9 in Long Beach, Calif., so don’t be surprised if a bunch of fan-shot footage surfaces after that show.
